ABOUT
Hege did her first base jump over 20 years ago and today is considered Norway’s most experienced, female in the sport. It all started when she was 17 and her grandfather asked her to sit down at the kitchen table for a chat.
He and her mom were worried, as lately, more than the average teenager she had been getting herself into trouble.
So Hege was offered a deal, what new sport, or hobby would she like to commit to, and her grandfather would pay for the course.
There was no doubt. Hege wanted to start skydiving! About one year later she found herself on top of an antenna, with base gear on.
It has been a beautiful journey with many bumps along the way. The most famous of these bumps is a big part of her public speech. In 1997 Hege crashed in the wall, after base jumping off Kjerag in Rogaland. She ended up having to spend the night alone on a little ledge. About 700 meter up in a vertical wall, where it is impossible to get up, or down without ropes and proper climbing skills.
It took Hege a long time to get back into basejumping after this. She was very scared, but also understood she needed more training skydiving from planes. Eleven years later she decides it’s time to get back on it. Today she’s a world record holder with 53 other BASE jumpers, she was the initiator and organized the female world record, where 16 girls jumped together. And is one of very few females in the world of wingsuit base jumping. She lives in Voss, Norway for the proximity to the mountains. In summer to go basejumping and in winter to speedride and ski. She has no education after high school, but has travelled on all continents seeking adventure, fun and new experiences. She’s been the manager of Norway’s biggest boardshop Whitewater and worked for companies like; Volcom and GoPro. Her ability to stay focused and push boundaries transmits thru her talk and will inspire and amuse the spectators.
